My arms stirred the tides of the mundane world;
I passed through sorrows of times past and present.
Our union was once mightier than the oath of gold and stone.
How could it not last forever?
Overnight we became at odds;
I woke to eternal sadness.
A noble man must not stress friendship;
The sun and moon know all.
In a flash, ice seals the vast landscape;
Fiery flames become dormant for now.
Time and again I write my words;
Yet my thoughts ultimately wander.
Now only for truth I debate the world unremittingly.
Today I start a new life
As seasons fleet across both shores.
How can our brotherhood revive?
I walk my path of a thousand miles;
The ancient moon still shines today,
But I fish this autumn river alone.
